Hi, folks -

I started a new blog, based on email correspondence I conducted with a friend over two years about "House MD."  The introduction will give you an idea of what to expect:

In 2011, my beloved miniature pinscher Bucky died very suddenly. He had been my soul mate and my psychiatric service dog. Because of my grief, I was unable to leave the house for weeks.

Another writer, my friend Carle, decided to help me through this process. I was obsessed with "House M.D." It was my first fandom, and I dived in deep, joining communities, starting a fan journal here, and watched DVDs over and over. Carle downloaded the first 5 seasons, because, as he said at the time, he was a "complete-ist." Within a few episodes, he became as obsessed as I was. This journal is a collection of the correspondence we conducted, episode by episode. With a few digressions.

Carle responded when I sent him the draft of the intro:

i DID give the idea some thought yesterday, in re: your intro. you forgot three essential items that give it a sense of urgency. 1. i said i would watch an episode every day, and sometimes two. 2. but the conceit was also that you had to respond EVERY DAY. this was part of the hectoring and lecturing, as i recall. and you couldn't just slag off; you had to give genuine, first-hand, DIRECT responses.
this was so that your grief had to come up for air, so to speak. 3. even though you were in the present, i was writing to you from 2004 and you could only reply to the immediate "house world" of 2004-5-6-7-8. any little asides about controversies you encountered on the web in your chat-rooms, etc. was allowed, but only insofar as there was absolutely no references to later episodes.
